Of, by, and for Whovians everywhere
Could you hurry up and close the door? Your ship’s about to blow up; there’s gonna be a draft." |

The authors of The Tinker and The Fold were inspired by classic science fiction, most especially Doctor Who. The time traveling Doctor has been working his particular brand of saving The Universe since 1963. Currently, the Twelfth Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, follows fan favorites Matt Smith and David Tennant, arguably the most popular of the modern Doctors.
Officially, there are twelve Doctors, though the introduction of John Hurt as The War Doctor complicates the count a bit since he's inserted somewhere between the Eighth Doctor, played by Paul McGann, and the Ninth Doctor, played by Christopher Eccleston. Additionally, the Tenth Doctor, played by David Tennant, regenerates twice, so one could argue that there are actually fourteen Doctors. Any way you slice it, there's been lots of actors over the last 50+ years playing The Doctor.
Doctor Who has inspired lots of creative types during it's decades long run on the BBC. Steven Spielberg was once quoted as saying, "The world would be a poorer place without Doctor Who." We agree wholeheartedly with Mr. Spielberg's sentiment!
When asked what he likes about Doctor Who, Evan Gordon, Co-author of TheTinker and The Fold, replied:
"Doctor Who is a fun science fiction show that really makes you think. The show utilizes certain human traits and attributes through the eyes of both the mysterious, time traveling, "Doctor" and his ever changing human companions as they travel in time and space in The Doctor's TARDIS, an alien ship disguised as a public call box that is bigger on the inside."
"I began watching Doctor Who as a kid in the 1970s with my grandfather. At that time Tom Baker was The Doctor," Scott Gordon added, "The opening and closing credits always tripped me out. When the show was reincarnated in 2005 with Christopher Eccleston, my love affair with Doctor Who was reignited."
With over 50 years of Doctors, serials, episodes, and a movie, the Doctor Who series, like its famous TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space) is bigger on the inside. Of course, if you're a fan, you already know this. Regardless, thanks for visiting and we hope you enjoy our Doctor Who fan page!

Some of our favorite Doctor Who Quotes
"Big flashy things have my name written all over them. Well… not yet, give me time and a crayon."
— Matt Smith, The 11th Doctor "The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don’t alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you happen to be one of the facts that needs altering." — Tom Baker, The 4th Doctor - The Face of Evil "Yeah you’re home, you’re also dreaming. Trouble is, Rory, Amy, which is which? Are we flashing forwards or… backwards. Hold on tight. This is going to be a tricky one." — Matt Smith, The 11th Doctor - Amy’s Choice "I’m the Doctor. I’m a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey in the constellation of Kasteroborus. I’m 903 years old. And I’m the man who’s gonna save your life and the lives of all 6 billion people on the planet below. (pause) You got a problem with that?" — David Tennant, The Tenth Doctor "You don’t just give up. You don’t just let things happen. You make a stand! You say no! You have the guts to do what’s right, even when everyone else just runs away." — Billie Piper as Rose Tyler in Season 1, Episode 13 "When they made this particular hero, they didn’t give him a gun, they gave him a screwdriver to fix things. They didn’t give him a tank or a warship or an x-wing fighter, they gave him a call box from which you can call for help. And the didn’t give him a superpower or pointy ears or a heat ray, they gave him an extra heart. They gave him two hearts. And that’s an extraordinary thing; there will never come a time when we don’t need a hero like The Doctor." — Steven Moffat "It’s like when you’re a kid. The first time they tell you that the world’s turning and you just can’t quite believe it ’cause everything looks like it’s standing still… I can feel it: the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour and the entire planet is hurtling around the sun at 67,000 miles an hour, and I can feel it. We’re falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go… That’s who I am. — Christopher Eccleston, The 9th Doctor - “Rose’ "Oh, you're going to kill me. What a finely tuned response to the situation." Peter Davidson, The 5th Doctor |
"Through crimson stars and silent stars and tumbling nebulas like oceans set on fire; through empires of glass and civilizations of pure thought, and a whole, terrible, wonderful universe of impossibilities. You see these eyes? They’re old eyes. And one thing I can tell you, Alex… Monsters are real."
— Matt Smith, The 11th Doctor, Night Terrors "I love humans. Always seeing patterns in things that aren’t there." — Paul McGann, 8th Doctor "The Doctor: “You have that face on again.” River Song: “What face?” The Doctor: “The one when you’re thinking ‘he’s hot when he’s clever." — Doctor Who Season 6, Episode 1 "Never ignore coincidence. Unless, of course, you’re busy. In which case, always ignore coincidence." — Matt Smith, The 11th Doctor, Season 5, Episode 12 |
